The first of September, 2025 will forever be a remarkable day for Kouam Guengne Lyne Samuella, a final year student who was initially declared to have failed her baccalaureate exams, but who passed after the official results slip was issued.
This final year student from the Lycée de Monatélé was officially declared to have passed her Industrial Technology baccalaureate exam. This news came from a correction of the results, more than a month after the official results were first announced. She was getting ready to restart her classes on September 8th, but her plans changed completely. Now, instead of thinking about failing, she can celebrate her wonderful success.
Her family says that Samuella was first told she had failed when the results came out on Friday, July 18th, 2025. Then, over a week ago, her parents were going about their normal day when they received a surprising phone call with the good news. This information was confirmed just on the September 1st when the official result slips were published.
A person in charge at the Cameroon Office of the Baccalaureate explained that the mistake happened when the results were being published. It was noticed and fixed later when the official score documents were being prepared. They also said the family did not have to do anything to get the situation corrected. Now, her name appears at the top of the pass list for the Lycée de Monatélé exam center. Because of this fix, the number of students who passed the Industrial Technology exam at the school increased from 4 to 5 out of 6 candidates.
This means the school’s pass rate is now 83.33%. This means she can say goodbye to her old school benches and classmates who expected to see her on the first day of school. A brand new chapter in her life is now beginning.
