The Ministry of Secondary Education has announced that the payment process for obligatory school contributions and official examination fees for the 2025/2026 school year will commence on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Following a press release issued by the Minister of Secondary Education, Professor Nalova Lyonga, the significant shift this year is the centralization of the entire payment system around the Student Unique Identification Number, known as the Matricule. This unique identifier is mandatory for all transactions. Parents and guardians must obtain this Matricule for each student either through the official platform, School Identity, or directly from the student’s school. Specific measures are in place for new and transferring students.
Those entering the sixth form or first year must be formally registered by their schools to acquire a Matricule. Students who have changed schools must ensure their information is fully updated on the platform before initiating any payment. The payment method is primarily electronic. Authorized payment partners include MTN Cameroon, Orange Cameroun, Express Union, Campost, and Afriland First Bank. A key exception is for entrance exams into the sixth form, ENIEG, and ENIET; payments for these specific fees must be made using the school’s code, not the student’s Matricule.
Following any transaction, the Ministry emphasizes the critical importance of confirming the payment receipt on the schoolidentifycard.com platform, better known in French as cartescolaire.cm. This verification step is essential to finalize the process and ensure the payment is correctly attributed to the student. The Ministry is counting on the collaboration of all parents, guardians, and school officials to ensure the smooth operation of this centralized payment system.
While this procedure was established by the ministry to streamline operations and enhance transparency, some parents say it will reduce the number of clandestine schools, as non-recognized institutions will not have access to the official platform and cannot generate the mandatory Matricule required for all official payments and examinations.
