The Minister of Secondary Education, Professor Nalova Lyonga, has praised the government Bilingual High School Essos for its major role in promoting bilingual education and national unity. Her comments came during the school 50th anniversary celebration, which took place on its grounds in a formal ceremony attended by dignitaries, educators, and former students.
The minister highlighted the school’s half century of dedication to fostering bilingualism, peaceful coexistence, and a sense of shared national identity. She emphasized that the institution has not only provided quality education but has also served as a model for how schools can contribute to social harmony in a multicultural country.
The event brought together high ranking officials from the education ministry, traditional leaders, former principals, and graduates who now work in various fields. In her address, Professor Nalova personally acknowledged the current principal, Mr. Tambeagbor Teddy, for his commitment and leadership.
